Teaching Respect and Responsibility at Home and in the Community.
Respect and responsibility are not lessons children learn in a single conversation. They are built through everyday moments.
It starts with simple things: saying “please” and “thank you”, listening when someone is speaking, taking care of their belongings, helping around the house, and treating other people with kindness.
At home, children should understand that being part of a family comes with responsibilities.
Putting away their toys. Helping with age-appropriate chores. Keeping their space tidy. Caring for things that belong to others.

Children should learn to respect teachers, neighbours, community workers, elderly people, and other children, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Parents also have an important role to play because children learn respect by watching how adults treat others.
Ephesians 6:2 reminds us: “Honour your father and mother.”
Respect begins at home, but it should not end there.
